We have designed a school curriculum that enables and enriches the child to develop skills that we think are crucial in a rapidly changing world. The curriculum is seen as key to raising the achievement of all children together with assessment and a pedagogy that is supported by use of the arts, technology, philosophy for children and global citizenship.
It is based on the core values and vision of the school. Our whole school question is “Who do I want to be?” Every year group has its own key question, ensuring strong pupils voice and reflecting our commitment to the UN Rights of the Child.
Whole school focus projects are planned with identified local partners for interesting and innovative outcomes. An annual exhibition in the autumn showcasing the work of the children through a focus topic is celebrated with friends and families. Pupils act as guides sharing the process of their learning to its end outcomes. Shakespeare, STEAM and Careers Week are amongst some of the whole school projects.
We believe this approach encourages children to be imaginative and immerse in learning that is exciting and relevant whilst developing their competencies and skills.
