Year 5 and 6 children competed in the First Lego League tournament on Saturday 2nd December. The tournament, which is run by Lego and the IET (Institute of Engineering and Technology), has been running for 9 years, however this is the first year Netley teams have competed. The tournament tests children’s coding knowledge and robotics abilities, as they battle it out to gain points for each of the missions their robot correctly completes. The teams also complete a robot design discussion, a core values challenge and presentation to show how they work as a team and use strategic thinking. Each team did incredibly well and have shown great dedication in the run up to the tournament. The event was huge and 28 teams competed in total! Thank you to the team at NextJump and Gillian Ingram from the Camden CLC for training the teams and building their confidence. Well done to the Aquawarriors, NWC and Water Coders!
